Hope- Tanka and Haiku

A Shul of old men
filled with their whole lifelong songs
and pieces of hope

Sometimes a tanka
leaves more room than a haiku
for conveying hope

Instead of saying
a bird that flies she called it
the thing with feathers
thus allowing it to slip
gently inside of your soul

The Haiku Horizons thing is neat. I see this week's prompt is "cold." Here's my offering:

Into the warm house
I touch my hand to her neck
And say, "cold fingers!"
