4 Species, 7 Species, 1 Overlap

There are four species that we lift up on Sukkot.  There are seven species of fruits of Israel.  There is one overlap between these two. The lulav is from a date plam tree and dates are one of the seven species. Thoughts about if there is some deeper meaning to this and what it might be?
