An Erev Shabbos Acrostic Poem

Always the Sabbath waits
Beckoning me, she waits
Calling in her whispers
Devotion defining her
Each week we meet
Finally, I breathe -
Genuine life needs faith -
Halfway to the hereafter
I meet my bride
Just before sundown
Knowing my beloved
Loving my beloved
My beloved, mine
Now, now, now, now, now
Our is a love of now
Past and future recede
Quietly we turn in
Right now all is alright now
Sunset turns to sunset
Time is gifted to us
Under every day is this one
Visit next week - kindly
Why only one day?
X marks my favorite day
You, my love, need not leave
Zion and Shabbat: my place and time
