Isn't it k'seh oveid? Too lazy to look it up.
The Ramban (somewhere in Devarim) says that seh can refer to a keves/sheep or a gdi/goat - as the korban pesach is refered ro as a seh, and that it can be either of these animals.
oops. i now got what you were getting out. you're right - it's k'seh oveid (tehillim 119:176. i'll correct it in the post).
So the first line should be:
Erred like a lost sheep.
That's what alerted me in the first place, that "lost" was missing.
