Write?
I am enjoying Nancy Peacock’s book on writing, housecleaning, and life (as the subtitle puts it, and it’s actually what the book – A Broom Of One’s Own – is about). On page 39 she gets into the essential meaning of writing.
“I believe that just the act of writing,
of processing on paper and recording my truth
has eased me into the acceptance of vulnerability…
Writing can help. Even if you don’t long for publication,
just the act of exploring yourself
can take you deeper and deeper into your soul.”

That's a wonderful excerpt from the book.
Sometimes I don't even want to take that first exploratory step...no doubt for fear of what I will find. But I concur that exploration of the soul via writing -- or even via fine art or music composition -- is indeed wonderful.
Thanks Pearl - kind and thoughtful as always...
There is what to fear from the double edge of the sword, but in the end what one gains is great via writing and/or true reading, film watching, etc. (And this is all IMHO secondary/supplementary to the power of writing and reading and thinking and growing withing Torah)
