Mainstays and G-d-Sends
I am in the Midwest for Shabbos, speaking in the AM in Shul, performing in the ballroom Saturday night. I've done this before and I'll - please G-d - do it again. Perhaps you'll invite me to your community, I'd love to come and share.
I just posted at ParshaPost - don't know who'll catch it before Shabbat, but Torah doesn't expire.
We went through about 8 games - me and the 4 community guys joining me for improv. And then there's my own set. I wish I remembered all my favorite lines. Which reminds me of the fact that they play these radio commercials for memory aids and the number to call is always complicated - like 193-7581. Wouldn't it be smarter to make it 1-800-REMEMBER? That way you wouldn't have 2000 people getting home, going - Did I hear something on the radio? Was it important?...
More possible lines - Your feedback is welcome. When people tell me to stand up it can be confusing. Neil - Stand Up - Neil - Stand Up... I can never tell what they want me to do - so I oscillate between kneeling and standing up... Speaking of my name, do telemarketers have contests who can mangle my name the worst? Or do they actually think there is a Mr. Flashmainee? And why when I fill in a form with my name spelled Neil do they change it to Niel - do they think I forgot "the rule"? Think I can't spell my own name. I guess they feel bad for me...
Shabbat is minutes away. I love Shabbat, since I'm a kid. I always feel better on Shabbat, even if I feel great going. Shabbat Shalom World!
Both Shabbos and friends
are my mainstays, my G-d sends
in my pain filled world
