I've Been Sitting Like This Since I Was A Kid

Poetry is dear to my heart, none more precious than the poetry I wrote this summer sitting at the Kotel on a bench made of stone, comfortably distant and close.

So? I sit like that also. So does another guy in my shul. No biggie. Although outsiders think I'm crazy for sitting like that, like some sort of Indian chief.

this post brings back two memories from way back when...
the first one is of sitting in the Y.U. library with a date writing notes back and forth instead of talking. it was a lot of fun!

the second...lhavdil elef alfei paamim has to do with

"Run from walls to fall
fall and not know how to stop
the wall would catch you"

it reminds me of the first time that i ever went roller skating... i had no clue how to stop, and had it not been for those walls i probably (CV) wouldn't be able to be writing this comment today.

anyhow...HAGS

msbi

the i has been added so as never to forget that wonderful state, that should always be on our mind and our state of mind!

thank you all for your comments. like i tell my students for tests - write the answers where you want and i'll find 'em. the thing about writing notes in the yu library is interesting as just yesterday someone was telling me that sometimes it's a good idea to write instead of talking while on a date - for a whole slew of reasons.

That would be an interesting date - no talking. It intrigues me.

since i wrote about the one person who told me about having done the idea, another person emailed that they had done it too and that it went well. now you (shoshana) like the idea...they seems to be a growing interest in this approach.
