On Wednesday I went to work, hoping to go home after. But, as is often the nature of work, things came up. So I didn't have a chance to go back to my apartment. I went straight to see my dad following a procedure he had, which thank G-d went well.
Then my brother drove us all to the far away land where he lives. I had work related items with me (books, roll book, papers, more papers) and a Ketubah in a large mailing tube. I brought the Ketubah to work to go through it with an experienced colleague. Because I didn't go home, I went to my brother's house with a white tube sticking out of my black book bag. Yesterday, my brother (with me in tow) escorted dad home, ran some errands, sat in Thanksgiving traffic, grabbed a slice of pizza, and dropped me off.
I dozed off as soon as I got home (after dozing in the car), about an hour before sundown. I awoke to a phone message from my bro telling me that my bag was still in his car (are those big things folks drive today called cars?) which was now outside his house far away.
I am deeply attached to my belongings. Is everyone? I have work due back on Monday and resources that I can't be apart from for long. And the wedding I'm performing in Connecticut on Sunday requires me to have the Ketubah. So after worrying and brainstorming for a few hours I remembered Doreen. Doreen is my colleague/boss/fairy G-d Mother from C.I.F. She came through for me. My brother brought her the bag. And with a little help of the kindness of strangers I now have the bag back. Thank G-d.
The last bunch of years have seen me hosting my family for Thanksgiving. I missed having that chance this year. Please G-d, next year. I really wanted to share my newly re-organized and re-energized apartment. Gam Zu LeTovah.
Soon I am off to my dear friend Michael's aufruf and then to perform his wedding. Please G-d.
Hodu LaHashem Ki Tov, Ki LeOlam Chasdo.

That is why she is listed only as anchor instead of real anchor...
Glad your dad is ok. Mazal Tov to your friend. Do you perform many weddings? I always feel a bit lost when I have left something somewhere...
