Thanks To G-d
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank G-d for all the good in my life. Last week at an oneg, I didn't plan to say it, didn't realize I was saying it, but before I knew it I told the people that I never had a bad day in my life. And they applauded. And really I wasn't looking for that. People were reminiscing about the wars they lived through and the countries they fled. And I realized how blessed I am.

You are indeed blessed, Neil, considering that you've not had a "bad day in your life".
I feel blessed every day, as well, but yes, there have been some bad days in my lifetime...deemed as bad for me, perhaps not for someone else. With body/mind I manage or try to manage to get past them.
My father has lived through a lot of "bad" days -- losing a parent at a very very young age, being a breadwinner at a young age, going through the war, losing family, dealing with major health issues, but he, too, is blessed because every day that he wakes up and is able to daven, he says "Thanks, G-d." I've learned a lot from him over the years.
Heh, I often think that most of my days are "bad" days, however, whenever I think about how comfortable I am, today sitting in my giant tub sipping tea from a three-liter vessel, eating cookies and a banana, and watching movies on a DVD, all while having hot water pour on my feet, I realize that even a Pharaoh never had it this good.
Thanks Pearl. My dad's a regular here. I've learned a lot from him too.
I felt what I said at that moment, but at other moments I feel like complaining...
Thanks for the comment Zoe - thank G-d for comforts, may you be blessed with continued good days of health.
