Poem of the Day - The Fault In Our Stars (With Apologies to John Green)
Long before
he was made
a household name
by Robert Browning
in the households
of poetry geeks worldwide
poor Ibn Ezra
in his own words
wrote that he was
born without a star.
Shakespeare said,
through Caesar,
we are all born
under stars
but our lives
are not their fault.
John Green
came on the scene late
and looked at the beauty
of man and humanity
and decided that
though they may not be
completely to blame
there is such a thing as
the fault in our stars.

I never got to loving it. It always felt like the YA cancer novels I read at age 12-13, where everyone learns something profound but someone still dies. I was annoyed. And I loved An Abundance of Katherines...

Thanks Dwayne. It's all a matter of taste. I did love this book. And I couldn't get into An Abundance of Katherines, though I may still try again.
