Oy. The immortals (but only in their own minds)...
Yup, part of it is just youth, and I think it exists at every stage of life you can't understand the vulnerability that will come with being a second, let alone decade, older than you are.
Also, studies show that a piece of the brain has not finished developing in teenagers and it's the piece related to good judgment (no joke).
