Pre Prayer

I recall years ago at my holy place of employment, the yeshiva I am blessed to teach in, a senior rebbe turned to me as we were both on computers before davening, "Is this mutar?" Early morning prep is popular as evidenced by how hard it is to get use of a copy machine at 7:30 AM. That's when there's a lot of email checking and test finishing. But is it mutar?
Last week, in several pre davening posts (click here, here, here, and here) (you just bought a house!) I wrote exclusively about davening. I felt good about that. And here I am pre-davening, with a work day ahead of me - meetings in and out of school - and I wonder what kind of activities are acceptable.

It's time for shul in moments, I just looked around the Shulchan Aruch and the line that struck me was that it's better to say a few tachanunim with kavanah than many without kavanah. Halevai.

More later. Maybe. Have a great, growth filled day.
