During my five year sojourn in Israel I bought this picture for my mother (ZL) and father (HSLABW). The artist's name was Bar Ami, I believe. He was Israeli but had spent some time living in Riverdale. His work, to me is amazing. He uses pesukim in small letters to make a picture that relates to the text. If I find him and he still has prints I'd like to get the one he did of all of Avot. The hat of this scribe contains the line, "What does G-d ask of you, but..." It goes on to list love, fear, and more as what G-d wants from us. The ubiquitous motif of spaces of light and dark in this piece represent the theme of love and fear. If you know how to contact the artist or have anything else to share about this piece please take on step forward, and then post a comment.
