...In The Shade

Hot enough for ya? Why do people say that? Do they say that even on a day today, when it's clearly hot enough for everybody. Today it was so hot a cab driver let me to sit up front so I could feel the air. Today was so hot I gave a cold bottle water to a worker in my building. Today was so hot that my friend ate lunch in his work's cafeteria and we met there instead of going to the park. That's how hot it was.

Yes, today (and the day before and before) were hot enough for everyone.

Welcome to my world. Here in Texas, where it is often over 100 degrees every day for a month, we never tire of asking "hot enough for you?"... and the corollary, "Would you like some iced tea?"

But I hope your heat wave breaks soon. I do remember hot days in NYC as particularly uncomfortable (the subway!).

Did you know June was National Iced Tea Month? Thanks for the comment/empathy.
