Time, It Was

More to follow, maybe. For now, see if you can match these 8 high school seniors from yesteryear with their adult selves of today. Click here to see the after picture from the reunion. Click on that picture to see it in full size. Happy matching!

Wow - some names came back to me in looking at the picture. I don't know if I know everyone in there, but...
The top picture is you.
Michael (can't remember the last name) was a blonde kid.
Alfred (ditto, though not blond).
Chanan (Beizer?)
Is Jeffrey Baruch one of those pictures?
And probably one or 2 others I should know, but don't.

Thanks Mark, nice to hear from you.

The top one is me. I guess we all looked kind of alike back then. The rest, in order are Jaques Brooks, Kenny Greif, Howie Tepper, Alan Mayer, Mordy Kohanim, Michael Alon, and Seth Berman.

There are 4 more that were there that I didn't post the before pictures of yet: Joe Blum, Bruce Osterhoudt, Howie Berenstein, Avi Matmon.

Teddy Braun, who you know, was on a business trip and sadly couldn't make it. Tepper, Alon, Berenstein went to YCQ. The impetus of the reunion, as I mentioned, was the passing of Scott Gordon, also of YCQ.

A lot of things struck me from these memories and pictures and from the whole experience. It was a time of greater diversity than today in the tri-state area day school world. Many of our parents were not American born and came from around the world. Students themselves came from very different homes from one another, socio-economically speaking.

Every family is still different from the other today. And yet, things seem monolithic in more ways today than they used to in this context.
