Friday is opening day for movies and today is a big day. A prominent director

has directed the seventh installment in a series. Usually I don't like sequels, particularly when they have a number in the title. But this marks the exception to the rule.
Jack Mathews rates ths film 3 and a half stars and writes that the characters "have just entered a new and exciting phase of lives that are very much works in progress."
I'm excited about the theatrical release of
49 Up.
Can this movie be appreciated without having seen the other movies in the series?
ReplyDeleteSeveral of the rave reviews I read pointed out that one of the great things about each film is that each one stands alone (they catch you up on background at the start, but then the present tense is all you need).
